i would give you a garden
- sammi cox
I would give you a garden
Full of spring blossom
Summer blooms
And autumn cheer
Not a single bouquet of flowers
Would I offer
Whose brightness fades
Slowly diminishing to death
What would that say about my heart?
My love?
I will cherish you for a week?
Or maybe ten days?
Then I will falter and fade away...
So instead I will plant you a garden
And I'll tend it for always
To flower, to bloom
Year after year
Full of spring blossom
Summer blooms
And autumn cheer
Not a single bouquet of flowers
Would I offer
Whose brightness fades
Slowly diminishing to death
What would that say about my heart?
My love?
I will cherish you for a week?
Or maybe ten days?
Then I will falter and fade away...
So instead I will plant you a garden
And I'll tend it for always
To flower, to bloom
Year after year
